Matsubara Knives
In Omura City, located in the south of Japan near Nagasaki, Mr. Tanaka Kama Kogyo runs his knife smithy in the already fourth generation. He is a highly skilled blacksmith who makes Japanese knives as well as tools. The tradition of knifemaking in Omura City goes back 800 years into the past. At that time, war refugees settled in Omura City and began the traditional craft.
Mr. Tanaka is nationally known and highly respected in Japan. He lives and embodies the tradition of blacksmithing and we at Silverback Knives are proud to make these products available. A Japanese knife from Matsubara is tradition and craftsmanship combined in one product. The Nakiri knives have a special charm and are an ideal addition to any kitchen set.
